Description

This second edition replaces the first edition of IEC 61996-2 published in 2006, and constitutes a technical revision. In particular it includes a new requirement for an interface to be used for downloading the stored data to an external computer. This is in support of an IMO requirement introduced in 2005 which becomes mandatory for ship fittings after June 2008. A similar revision has been prepared to IEC 61996-1 for the VDR.
