ASTM C496-96
Historical Standard: Standard Test Method for Splitting Tensile Strength of Cylindrical Concrete Specimens
ASTM C496
Scope
1.1 This test method covers the determination of the splitting tensile strength of cylindrical concrete specimens, such as molded cylinders and drilled cores.
Note 1-For methods of molding cylindrical concrete specimens, see Practice C192 and Practice C31. For methods of obtaining drilled cores see Test Method C42.
1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard.
1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
