This International Standard specifies a method of measuring the dimensional change of paper after immersion in water. This property should not be confused with hydro-expansivity.1)

1) At International Standard concerning hygro-expansivity is in preparation.

Method applicable to most kinds of paper but may not be suitable for papers which become extremely fragile or curl excessively after soaking in water.
