These capacitors may have Itself-healing<br \/>\nproperties&#034; depending on conditions of use. They are primarily<br \/>\nintended for applications where the ac component is small with<br \/>\nrespect to the rated voltage. They may be encapsulated or<br \/>\nunencapsulated, as indicated in the detail specification.<\/p>\n<p><u>Object<\/u><\/p>\n<p>The object of this standard is to prescribe preferred ratings<br \/>\nand characteristics and to select from IEC Publication 384-1<br \/>\n(1982), the appropriate quality assessment procedures, tests and<br \/>\nmeasuring methods and to give general performance requirements for<br \/>\nthis type of capacitor.
